- Mrs. Barbara Zastrow, 79, of 722 Superior Ave., widow of Herman, died Tuesday evening in St. Nicholas Hospital. She had been a patient two weeks.
The former Barbara Zervi, she was born in Austria, April 27, 1886, daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Zervi. She came to America with her family in 1889, settling first in Polar (Langlade County).
Her marriage to Mr. Zastrow took place at Antigo, Oct. 18, 1906, following which the couple farmed in Brown and Calumet counties. They lived at Hilbert for 15 years until her husbands death in 1947,(sic) following which Mrs. Zastrow came to live in Sheboygan with her daughter, Mrs. Hilarian Hauck.
Surviving in addition to the daughter, Mrs. Hauck (Josephine), are five sons, Gordon of Sheboygan, Edward of Chilton, Elmer of Kaukauna, Herman of Menasha and Walter of Hilbert; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Frank Fleischman of Antigo, Mrs. Eli Pennington of Alton, Wis., Mrs. Edward Zastrow and Mrs. Francis Kaplanek, both of White Lake, Wis., and Mrs. Henry Robinson of Zion, Ill.
Two sons preceded her in death.
Services will be in St. Pauls Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Arnold Wenger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Chilton.
