- Rita Noel Pratsch passed into the loving arms of the Lord on June 1, 2016 after a very long struggle with multiple sclerosis. She was the gracious daughter of William A. Wormley and Doris (West) Wormley, born in Washington, DC on December 10, 1948. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1967, having been senior class president and president of the student council. She attended the University of Southern California (USC), graduating in 1971, and then returned for a year of post-graduate studies. She majored in drama and minored in English. While at USC as an undergraduate she had the female lead in every college play, drama or musical. During her graduate year she performed the role of Anita in West Side Story. While in college she worked part-time for the U.S. Geological Survey and did seasonal sales work at major Department stores. After college she returned to the DC area, worked full-time at the U.S. Geological Survey, did weekend modeling work and auditioned for local dinner theaters. She met her future husband, Lloyd (Bud) Pratsch, who was also employed by the U.S. Geological Survey: they were married February 16, 1974 in Green Bay, WI. Within a few years she was an employee of the General Services Administration (GSA) where she made life-long professional and personal relationships. Rita retired from the GSA in January 2003 and spent the remainder of her years in the Oakton home she and her husband designed and built. Rita is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bud, two daughters-Candice Pratsch Basso (Chris) and Laurie Pratsch Digennaro (Armand) and four grandchildren-Joey, Leah, Mariana and Christian. She is also survived by one sister, Doris Zuessman (Eric) of Florida and one brother, Barry Wormley (Mika) of Hawaii.
