Formerly of Kaukauna, age 89, died at 12:27 a.m. Thursday at the Okeechobee, Florida Hospital after a three month illness. She was born May 26, 1890 in Milwaukee. Mrs. Charlesworth was a graduate of Oshkosh State Teachers' College, and the University of Wisconsin. She first taught at a country school near Crandon, then at Westfield and finally at Kaukauna High School. She married Frank M. Charlesworth II, March 3, 1915. He was City Engineer in Kaukauna for 25 years and held the same post simultaneously in De Pere for 23 years and was Outagamie County Surveyor for 22 years. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, March 3, 1965. Before their retirement to Florida, Mrs. Charlesworth was active in the Kaukauna Women's Club, serving two terms as president. She was also a member and president of the Homemakers Club, an active member of Odile Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Kaukauna Methodist church, where she was a longtime member of the choir. Since their retirement to Florida, she has been a member of the Fulford Methodist Church, their choir and the Women's Club. Survivors include a son, Frank M. Charlesworth III (Bud), Appleton; three daughters: Mrs. Jean Thompson Mrs. Marion Burt, and Mrs. Patricia Reardon, all of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, September 23, 1968. A memorial service will be in Miami, Florida, but the time and day have not been set. Burial will be in Kelso Cemetery, Kaukauna.
