    • Fishkill - Albert J. Sollecito, a resident of Fishkill for 50 years, died at home on Thursday, April 24, 2014. He was 82.

      Son of the late Francesco and Francesca Salerno Sollecito, he was born in Brooklyn on March 6, 1932. Albert enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951, and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1956.

      Albert practiced the Baha'i faith. He was also a sports enthusiast, and enjoyed playing softball with the Poughkeepsie Senior League. He was also an avid NY Mets and NY Giants fan. In 1991, he retired from Crowley, formerly Dairy Lee, where he worked many years as a deliveryman throughout the Hudson Valley.

      On May 24, 1959, Albert married Joanna Kippenhan in Appleton, WI. Mrs. Sollecito survives at home.

      Additional survivors include his daughter, Dana Polce & her husband Agostino of Howell, NJ; his son, Frank Sollecito & his wife Tanya of Buda, TX; his son, Christopher Sollecito & his wife Christina of Riverdale, NJ; his daughter, Jennine Sileno & her husband John of Newburgh; and his grandchildren, Alexa, Giana, Vera, Frank, Bergen, Hudson, Taryn, and Monica. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

      He was predeceased by his grandson, Johnny Sileno in 2010 as well as his brothers, Joseph and Salvatore Sollecito.

      Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery in Beacon.
