- Mrs. Anthony Eckes (Margaret Skall), 6713 Brecklin Loop, Winchester. Formerly of Appleton, age 73, died unexpectedly at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. She was born Nov. 20, 1910 in Appleton and had been a Appleton resident most of her life. She resided in Winchester for the past eight years. Mrs. Eckes was employed by Skall's Wonder Bar for 35 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Heart Club and the Gold Star Mothers. Survivors include her husband; two daughters: Carole Eckes, Appleton; and Mrs. Courtland (Rosemary) Youngs, Crivitz; a son, Russell, Appleton; a sister, Mrs. Bernard (Henrietta) Abel, Appleton; three grandchildren: Angela and Frank Eckes, and Jamie Joy Youngs. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Anthony Jr., three brothers and a sister. The complete funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be a memorial mass at a later date. Friends may call at the Thomas-Ellenbecker Funeral Home, 1213 N. Appleton St., from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 Wednesday evening. A memorial fund is being established.
