    • Mary Ellen Kesler, 86, Appleton, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017. She was born on June 30, 1931 in De Pere to the late Kenneth and Suzanne (Antisdal) Sepersky.

Mary was blessed with a full and interesting life. At De Pere High School she starred and sang in many high school musicals and performances. Growing up, her family loved spending summers on Pine Lake.

Mary met Hal at the tender age of 18 and married a year later on December 26, 1950. Mary and Hal had seven children over the next 12 years. Hal's career moved the family 7 times around the Midwest. Mary always looked upon it as a new adventure and made many lifelong friends along the way! Regardless of where they lived, Mary returned to their cottage of 52 years at Shawano Lake for the summers. She and Hal enjoyed many years of retirement at the cottage during the summer and in Carefree, Arizona for the winter. Entertaining family and friends was one of Mary's greatest pleasures, especially when it was out on the porch of the cottage. She was well known for the best pies in the world! Mary most loved spending time with her family of 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, the extended family of Herb and Anne Kesler and many loved nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life she remained a devoted Catholic and enjoyed attending Mass.

She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; son, Charlie (Judy) Kesler; daughters, Kay (Fred) Prassas, Barbara (Rick) Ausick, Connie (Jim) Zornow, Margaret (David) Depew, Suzanne (John) Vigeland; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Sepersky; sisters, Charlotte Fixler, Sally Cegelski; and many extended family members and friends of Mary and Hal.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Virginia.

Family and friends may visit at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W Pine Street, Appleton, on Saturday, November 25, from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10:30am with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
