- Erna Rasmussen, 88, was called to heaven on November 24, 2015. Erna was born December 12, 1926 the daughter of the late Margaret and Joseph Scovronske. She lived in Menasha until she married the late Norman Rasmussen in December of 1944. Most of her married life she spent in Appleton and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 50 years.
She devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother and in her younger years taught volleyball at Sacred Heart School. She also enjoyed playing the organ, singing, dancing (especially the polka)and spending time at her cottage in Pelican Lake along with her best friend "Buddy" (her pride and joy). She always enjoyed her outings with the girls from the class of 44 from St. Mary's High School.
Erna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Margaret Miracle (Neenah), son Steven Rasmussen and his wife Nancy (Pelican Lake), and her son-in-law Tomas Baumann (Hortonville); her eight grandchildren: Mark Miracle, Barbara Miracle, Tammy (Jeff) Hyler, Todd (Lorie) Baumann, Terry (Janis) Baumann, Dallas (Dustin) Mueller, Randy (Elizabeth) Rasmussen; and eight great grand children.
She was also proceeded in death by her daughter Sandra Baumann, son-in-law Daniel Miracle, sister and brother in law Alvina and Clifford Brinkman, and brother Donald Scovronske.
The Funeral Liturgy for Erna will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E Fremont St. Appleton, with Father Brian Wideman officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
