- Hold Funeral Services for Aged Resident
Body of Late Mrs. Mary Ann Vandenberg is Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery
Last rites for the late Mrs. Mary Ann Vandenberg, 87 years of age, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. T. Runte, Doty street, Monday morning, were held from the Holy Cross Catholic church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. J. Lochman in charge. Burial was in the family lot in Holy Cross cemetery.
Pall bearers were R. H. McCarty, Marshall Bayorgeon, L Benz, Joseph Wittmann, J. J. Jansen and Peter Feller.
The deceased Mrs. Vandenberg was born in Holland August 20, 1842, and following her marriage there came to the United States, settling in Green Bay. After a short time in that city, the Vandenberg's went to Freedom and then about 49 years ago came to Kaukauna where Mrs. Vandenberg had resided since. Her husband, Edward Vandenberg, a Civil War veteran, died about forty years ago.
The late local woman died at the home of her daughter, where she had resided for several years, Monday morning about 11 o'clock, following an illness which had confined her to her bed for the last six months
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. G. Dhein of Stevens Point, and Mrs. H. T. Hunte of this city; one step-son, L. E. Vandenberg of Kaukauna; two step-daughters, Mrs. John Lucas of Milwaukee, and Mrs. William Wittman of Oconto Falls; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Out of town people who attended the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. William Nuss of Fond du Lac; Mrs. Anna Luens of Milwaukee; Miss Margaret Dhein, Mrs. Charles Abb of Stevens Point; Hugo Dhein of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. William Wittman and Mrs. Frank Graf of Oconto Falls; Mrs. Matt Hauch of Cleveland, Wis.; Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. Dhein of Chilton; Mrs. Thomas Delanty and Mrs. Harold Delanty of Hilbert; Mr. and Mrs. J. De Tennis and Allie Vandenberg of Green Bay.
