Steidl, Matilda A. "Tilly"
Matilda "Tilly" Ann Steidl, Menasha, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Oakridge Gardens. She was born in Menasha on November 27, 1908, the youngest child of the late Joseph and Anne (Trynski) Sabrowski. Tilly was united in marriage on February 4, 1933, to Floyd Steidl and shared 70 wonderful years together; he preceded her in death on August 6, 2003. Tilly enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing at the cottage on Post Lake. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. Christmas was Tilly and Floyd's most favorite holiday. Now they can celebrate it together.
Tilly is survived by her loving children: Barbara Kemps, Menasha; Richard (Virginia) Steidl, Menasha; William (Laura) Steidl, Weyauwega; Robert Steidl, Waupaca; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph; four brothers: Ed, Clarence, Joe and Herb; a sister, Laura; and two infant brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, December 18, 2009, from 4-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will again be on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
We wish to extend a thank you to Dr. Curtis Baltz for taking such good care of our mother all of these years.
Also a huge thank you to all at Oakridge Gardens who really made mom feel like one of their family. And especially to all the gals on West Wing, thank you for your generous love and care.
