    • Elaine "Pete" Van Sistine, 94, of De Pere passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Otto and Emma (Cota) Phieffer was born August 8, 1920. She married John "Ed" Van Sistine on February 14, 1950 in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2000.

      Pete was a loving mother and grandmother, and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren at their many sporting events. She and Ed spent many happy days at their cottage on the Bayshore in Suamico.

      Survivors include one son, Pete "PJ" (Jean) Van Sistine, De Pere; daughter, Carol (Steve) Holsten, Redding, CA; two grandchildren, Tyler and Heidi Van Sistine; and two special nieces, Judy and Joanie Peterson. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ed, and her special niece and nephew, Mary Martens and Joe Smits.
