- Age 94, passed away Monday, July 9, 2001 at St. Paul Home. Mary was born in Waukegan, Illinois on September 14, 1906, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Heraver) Ogrin. On her birthday in 1937, she married John Van Denzen at St. Mary Church in Kaukauna. John preceded her in death in 1980. After moving to Kaukauna in 1932, Mary became a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary Church and the Altar Society. Over the years, she was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper, Appleton Coated Papers, and the Kaukauna Elks Club.
Mary is survived by a sister: Emily Mozina of North Chicago, Illinois, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Gertrude Michel, brothers Frank (Carolyn) Ogrin and Max (Mary) Ogrin; a sister Angela Keene; a half-brother Matthew Ogrin; a half-sister Pauline Miller, and brothers-in-law Tony Mozina, Hayden Keene, and Bill Miller.
The memorial funeral liturgy for Mary will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 16, 2001 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. Seventh Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the liturgy.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Marys dear friend Nancy Schmidt and to the staff at St. Paul Home for their companionship, prayers, and support. You all made Marys last years enjoyable for her. Thank you so very much.
