age 83, died Saturday, April 25, 1998 at St. Paul Home following a short illness. She was born May 6, 1914 in the Town of Dundas; the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Wolfinger) Hovenar. Laureta married Henry Joosten Sr., on June 2, 1938; he preceded her in death on February 7, 1996. They farmed in Little Chute for 37 years and resided in Hollandtown for 45 years. Lauretta was the main leader and member of Valley 4-H for 25 years. She loved her flowers and garden. She was a longtime member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, and was also a member of Hollandtown Clipper Club.
She is survived by a son and daughter in-law; Henry and Kris Joosten, Jr., town of Vandenbroek; a daughter and son in-law; Joyce and John Topel, New Holstein; five grandchildrenl Leonard (Melinda) Joosten, Milwaukee; Brock and Brook Joosten, Little Chute; Timothy and Francis Topel, New Holstein; a great grandchild, Aleah Joosten. She is further survived by her husband's two sisters in-law; Anna Vander Heiden, Little Chute; Martha (John) Van Groll; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence (Joe) Van Lannen. The funeral liturgy will be 3 p.m. Friday May 1, 1998 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown with Fr. Stan Browne officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Francis Catholic Church, 433 County CE, Hollandtown from 1 p.m. on Friday until the time of service.
