- FOREST GROVE - Carol Marie Vandehey, 69, Forest Grove, died Feb. 14, 2007, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation Center in Hillsboro.
A memorial mass will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1660 Elm St. A reception in the parish hall will follow.
Recitation of the rosary will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Vandehey was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Petaluma, Calif., one of five children of Wallace and Eleanor Carter Hockema. She was raised in Petaluma and graduated from Petaluma High School. She moved to Forest Grove in 1957 to live with an aunt, Minnie White, and work as a telephone operator for Forest Grove Phone Company.
On Dec. 28, 1957, she married Alvin Joseph Meeuwsen in Roy. They lived in Banks and he died Feb. 18, 1968. She moved to Forest Grove in 2000.
Mrs. Vandehey worked in assembly at Tektronix for 22 years and retired in 1991.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and family activities.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Debra and Mike Duyck, Cornelius, Walter and Sharon Meeuwsen, Banks, Sherry and Bill Robeck, Forest Grove, and Greg and Roxanne Meeuwsen, Gaston; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four siblings and their spouses, Darlene Miesner , Forest Grove, Joanne Mohr, Hillsboro, Rich and Marlene Hockema, Springfield, and David and Theresa McKee, Lincoln City.

Duyck and VanDeHey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
