Hazuga, Mary (26 FEB 1946)
On Tuesday morning, Feb. 26, 1946, at nine o'clock at St. Ann's Church in Stanley occurred the marriage of Mary Hazuga, daughter of John Hazuga, and Sylvester Driessen, son of Fred Driessen of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). Rev. Paul Pitzenberger performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of white satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves and a long train. She wore a lace trimmed fingertip veil arranged on the head in coronet style. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace and she carried an arm bouquet of white roses.
She chose as her bridesmaid, miss Esther Driessen of Kaukauna, a cousin of the groom. Miss Driessen wore a gown of yellow net over taffeta, fashioned in colonial style with a full skirt and fitted bodice. She also wore a pearl necklace and carried an arm bouquet of pink flowers.
The groom was attended by Edward Hazuga, a brother of the bride. The men wore dark suits with white boutonnieres.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home with dinner and supper served to about 75 relatives and friends. A dance was given in the evening at the Stanley Auditorium.
Mr. and Mrs. Driessen will make their home on the groom's farm near Thorp.
