- Mrs. Else Herm, 81, South Shore, Shawano Lake died Thursday, June 16, 1966. She had suffered a stroke on Monday.
The former Else Gierra was born March 28, 1885 in the Town of Washington. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William Gierra. She had lived in the Town of Washington all of her life. On September 10, 1912, she was married to Paul Herm, he died in 1954. Mrs. Herm owned and operated the Sand Beach Resort. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She had also been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Washington, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and sang in the church choir for many years before joining St. James. She had also served as clerk of Lakeview Public School for 9 years.
Surviving are three daughters and one son. Also eleven grandchildren. One son and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at St. James Lutheran Church, Shawano, on Saturday, June 18, 1966, at 12:30 PM. Friends and relatives visited at the Born Funeral Home, Shawano, after 3 o'clock Friday until 11 o'clock on Saturday and then at the church until the time of the service.
