- Appleton - Priscilla Gallarin Vandenberg, age 88, of Appleton WI went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 4, 2018 surrounded by her devoted children. She was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks earlier.
Priscilla was feisty and active every day. She was a lifelong bus rider in the Appleton area. She openly engaged other passengers, and helped many with advice and donations. Everywhere she went she kept people laughing. Priscilla loved music, moscato and was an energetic dancer, celebrating her life with every birthday being a dance party.
Priscilla was born in the Philippines and was raised by her sister. She survived the Japanese occupation of the Philippine Islands during WWII witnessing the sacrifices of American soldiers.
Priscilla came to the United States in 1963 after marrying SSGT Roy Joseph Vandenberg and became a US Citizen in 1972. She was very proud to be an American. She loved the United States and Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother in addition to her husband Roy Joseph, (Roy and Eva Vandenberg of North Superior Street, Appleton WI) Priscilla also missed her son, Peter D. Vandenberg (Victoria Vandenberg), who preceded her in death in 2010.
