- John "Jack" Jerris Chervenka, Town of Greenville, born May 25, 1938, son of John and Lydia (Greening) Chervenka, in Menominee, Michigan, Passed away on July 10, 2016. Jack graduated from Menominee High School, served his county in the Navy, and then built fire trucks for 39 years at Pierce Manufacturing. He married Nancy (Utecht) (Van De Hey) on September 3, 1983. Jack was an avid outdoorsman, fishing the Wolf River, Lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan, hunting deer in Waupaca County, bird hunting with his dog Rosie, shooting trap, skeet and sporting clays. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, basketball and football. Jack, a self-taught master carver, and Nan enjoyed many years show casing his decoy bookends and Nan's baskets as A Basket Case and More at area craft fairs. All his beautiful hand carved decoys are a true legacy.
Survivors: wife Nancy, stepsons Todd (Paula) Van De Hey and his daughters, Anne, Elle and Stepdaughter Lynn Peterson; Tedd (Wendy) Van De Hey; sister Marion Horvath and her family, Tom, Jean, Tim and Terry; brother in law, Gerald Hubbard and his famiy Jane (Rick) Fellens, Anne (Carlos) Aranda; sisters in law, Donna (Arden) Emmerich, Shirley (Gerald) Baumann, brothers in law, Burnell (Jeanette) Utecht, Michal (Mary) Utecht and their families.
Preceeded in death by his parents, sister Betty Hubbard and brother in law, Frank Horvath.
In accordance with Jack's wishes, there will be a private memorial service at a later date.
