- Betty J. Kluge, age 88, of Hortonville, died on June 14, 2011, at Kindred Hearts in Manitowoc under the care of hospice. Betty was born on October 13, 1922, in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Guy and Lydia (Muenster) Berzill. On April 25, 1942, she married Reno A. Kluge, who preceded her in death in 2000. Along with PeeWee Burns, Betty and Reno owned and operated the Hortonville Bakery for many years.
Betty is survived by her children: Guy (Cheryl) Kluge of Hortonville, Rick Kluge of Hortonville, and Bonnie (Larry) Tennie of Manitowoc; grandchildren: Lori (Terry) Tank, Todd Kloehn (special friend Theresa), Thad (Dawn) Kluge, Christopher Tennie, Susan (Tyson) Miller, and Mark Tennie; three great-grandchildren: T.J. Kloehn, Hunter Kluge, and Tyler Tank; two sisters: Lois Calmes and Cleo Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reno; daughter, Barb Kluge; granddaughter, Kelly DeGroot; as well as two brother-in-laws.
The Christian Funeral for Betty will be at 12 noon on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 203 N. Nash St., Hortonville. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A committal service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Mountain Cemetery, Mountain, Wisconsin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Kindred Hearts and Southern Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
