      Willard Verstegen

      Little Chute

      Age 83, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after a brief illness. He was born December 7, 1897 in Little Chute, where he resided all of his life. He had been in the hardware and tavern business for many years. Mr. Verstegen was a member of the Catholic Order of Forsters; and a former Assistant Chief of the Little Chute Fire Department.

      Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Peter [Barbara] Lingl, Green Bay; Mrs. Grace Revoir, Little Chute; two sons; Thomas, Winter Heights, Florida; Merlin, Casselberry, Florida; two sisters; Mrs. John [Myrtle] Wildenberg, Kaukauna; Mrs. Carl [Frances] Vander Heiden, Menominee, Michigan; 25 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1972; a son, Jerry, in 1965; two daughters; Margaret in 1956; and Eileen in 1920; and a grandchild.

      The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 to 9 Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
