- Walter Adam Wimer, 79, Cherry Grove, died May 27, 1996, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg following an extended illness.
Mr Wimer was born Mar 11, 1917, at Smith Creek and was a son of the late Taylor Wimer and Rebecca Vandevander Wimer.
He was a retired logger.
On Dec 17, 1950, he married Sallie Vandevander, who survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Rebecca Moses, and Lorraine Painter, both of Harrisonburg, and Lulabella Turner, Betty Wimer and Linda Wimer, all of Cherry Grove; five sons, Raymond Wimer of Brandton, FL, Scottie Wimer, Mt Olive, Martin and Richard Wimer, both of Cherry Grove, and Danny Wimer, Oakland, MD; two sisters, Lucy Bennett and Regama Arbaugh, both of Cherry Grove; three brothers, Ambrose Wimer and Osie Wimer, both of Cherry Grove, and Philip Wimer, Harrisonburg; 15 gch and 10 ggch.
Pastor Robert Brown conducted the funeral at 1 pm Thursday at the Circleville United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Cherry Hill Cemetery.
