      Volkman, Waldemar G. "Wally" Waldemar G. Volkman, "Wally," 83, Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday December 5, 2007. He was born March 1, 1924, to the late Edward and Saloma (Tiedt) Volkman in Black Creek, WI. He married Elaine Meltz on July 27, 1946, and she preceded him in death on March 21, 1999. He worked at Valley Press and as a custodian for the Appleton Area School District until his retirement. Wally was a longtime and active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Appleton. He was an avid sports fan and lifelong Packers season ticket holder. Besides being a devote Christian, Wally enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandson Brady.

      Survivors include his daughters: Barbara (Steven) Suchan Reedsville and Susan (Joseph) Buchberger, Appleton; three grandchildren: Michelle (Steven) Rosenbaum, Darboy; Michael Luebke, Darboy; Brady Buchberger, Appleton; two sisters: Ruth Gehrke, Black Creek; Vera (Orville) Zuberbier, Black Creek; a brother Arnold (Marjorie) Volkman, Black Creek.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine; brother Carl and brother-in-law Howard Gehrke.

      Funeral services for Wally will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church (900 N. Mason St.) Appleton, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
