Age 85, formerly of 2100 W. Second Street, passed away Thursday, March 7, 1996 at Americana Healthcare Center. He was born October 14, 1910 in Little Chute, the son of the late John and Minnie (Mollen) Vander Putten and had resided in the Appleton and Little Chute areas all of his life. Ted was employed by Kimberly Clark Corp. at the Kimberly Mill for 31 years, retiring in 1967. Following his retirement he operated a machine and gunsmith shop. Ted enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed dancing. Ted was a member of the Kimberly Clark Quarter Century Club and the NRA. Survivors include a daughter, Roxann Miller, Appleton; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Roy and Evon Vander Putten, South Windsor, Connecticut; Carl Vander Putten, Gray, Maine; Clarence "Butch" and Barbara Vander Putten, Appleton; 15 grandchildren: Sarah (Tim) Long, Anne (Tom) Decker, Brad Miller, Duane (Holli) Vander Putten, Paula (David) Beine, Kris and Maia Vander Putten, Jonathon, Amy, and Amara Vander Putten, Suzanne (Leonard) Dicicco, Lisa (Jim) Wood, Dale Vander Putten, Carol (Greg) Gobble, Kim Vander Putten; nine great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Agnes and Marion Vander Putten, Green Bay. Besides his parents, Ted was preceded in death by two sisters: Ann Bureth and Jenette Vander Putten; also three brothers: Rudolph, William and Norbert Vander Putten. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 1996 at the Brettschneider Trettin-Lederer Funeral Capel with the Rev. Robert Stegeman officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 4 p.m. Saturday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
