    • Tekla Zita Hart, age 92, of De Pere, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 18, 2016. She was born July 4, 1924 in the Town of Holland to George and Jacobina (Jacobs) Van De Wettering. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Thomas Hart in February of 1943 in San Diego, CA and he preceded her in death in 1997. During her career Tekla worked as a bookkeeper and seamstress. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Altar Rosary Society in De Pere and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, golfing, making Christmas ornaments by hand, and was an avid Brewer fan.

      Survivors include her daughter Patricia Daune of De Pere; two grandchildren: Kymn and Heather; great-grandchildren: Dante, Jahyra and Darian; sisters-in-law: Betty Hart and LaVerne Van De Wettering, as well as many nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her husband, Kenneth, and parents, Tekla was preceded in death by a son Keith; sister Rita (Sylvester) Fink, brother Vitus Van De Wettering and a sister Casilda (Eugene) Stumpf.

      Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Friday, July 22, from 9:00am until 10:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial for Tekla will be celebrated at 11:00am Friday with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere.
