    • Ryne Andrew Spindler, age 14, of Forest Junction, was suddenly called home by Jesus on May 4, 2011.
Ryne was born on July 23, 1996, in Manitowoc, the son of Sara (Michael) Micke and William (Rebecca) Spindler. In his fourteen short years, Ryne lived a wonderful, productive life. He was a young man with many interests and talents. He loved reading and especially liked a good horse story. His love of horses and animals in general led him to join the FFA and to showcase his beloved goats and rabbits at the Calumet County Fair. He will be missed by all the animals he cared about but especially Henna, Snickers, Zoey, Zippy, Domino and Ace. His plan was to be a veterinarian some day.
Ryne loved sports and being part of a team. He played hard with his Valders teammates through Grade 7. When his family moved, he played just as hard and adjusted to a new school situation in Brillion. He was excited to enter high school and proud to be a member of the Lions track and field team and cross country team. Both at Valders and Brillion Ryne enjoyed being a member of the band, and he and his family were already saving to enjoy a trip to Disney World in 2013 where the Brillion band is scheduled to perform at both Disney World and Universal Studios.
This summer Ryne was excited about taking driver's ed, spending time at Post Lake, preparing his animals for the Calumet County Fair, and just enjoying time with his family. He was also signed up for and had his plane ticket to attend Camp Tepeyac, a special retreat and service opportunity through his parish, Holy Family, Brillion.
Ryne is survived by his parents: Sara (Michael) Micke, Forest Junction, and William (Rebecca) Spindler, Manitowoc; two siblings: Matthew and Kaitlin Spindler; three step-siblings: Felicia Kurtzback, and Erica and Chad Chase; grandparents: Randy and Valerie Spindler, Newton; and Don and Mary Micke, Forest Junction; great-grandmother: Marilyn Spindler, Kiel; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Ryne was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Anton C. and Dolores Krepline; a cousin, Allison Krepline; and his great-grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion. Officiating at the Mass will be Rev. Matt Simonar and Rev. Larry Abler. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Holy Family Church, Brillion. A celebration of Ryne's life will also be held Sunday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and will conclude the Sunday visitation at church. The visitation will then continue at Holy Family on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be made www.wieting-funeralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to set up a fund in Ryne's name to benefit his school and parish community.
The family would also like to say a special thank you to the many friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, the Brillion and Valders communities in general, St. James UCC, police and community services of Brillion, and the doctors and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their help, support and prayers. Father Matt, Father Larry, Rita, Anna, Joann, and Sarah Jean are also specially thanked for their help during this difficult time.
The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
