- Ruthelle Nieuwenhuis, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. Paul Home with her daughters by her side. Ruthelle was born on June 8, 1930 to Clifford and Esther (Farney) Nussbaum in Forrest, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Carl Nieuwenhuis on December 18, 1950. Ruthelle worked for Les and Joyce at the Abel Insurance Company and loved working there. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and being outside. She was active at Immanuel United Church of Christ and enjoyed working with her church friends. Most of all Ruthelle loved being with her family and the family vacations at the cottage and all the times they spent together will be cherished.
Ruthelle is survived by her two daughters; Alice (James) Ehlke and Debbie (Lawrence) Van Dyn Hoven, grandchildren; Jeff (Kelly) Ehlke, Jennie (Dave) Moore, Travis (fiancée Andrea) Van Dyn Hoven, and Holly (Adam) Knudtson, great grandchildren; Rylee Ehlke, Makayla Ehlke, Kendall Moore, Logan Moore, Jack, Evie Knudtson, and Braxton Knudtson, her sister Marlene McKean, other relatives and friends.
Ruthelle was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carl, and three brothers; Gordon, Alan, and Jerry Nussbaum
The memorial service for Ruthelle will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00AM at IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
The family would like to thank all of St. Paul Home and Hospice, the entire staff and residents for being Mom's extended family during her stay there.
