Gerharz, Ruthe L. (Streich)
Ruthe L. Gerharz, 87, of Kaukauna, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2010, after a brief illness. Ruthe was born on September 19, 1922, in Kaukauna, to the late Max and Ellen (Johnson) Streich. Ruthe graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1940. She married Michael J. Gerharz on June 30, 1944; he preceded her in death on July 27, 1997. She was employed at the former Kaukauna Community Hospital for seven years and then served as a "Pink Lady" at the Appleton Medical Center for five years.
Survivors include her five children, Dennis (Dixie) Gerharz, Tim (Diane) Gerharz, Marcia (Mike) McPhail, Kristine Hennes, and Sherry Van Daalywyk (Rick Halat). She is further survived by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ruthe was preceded in death by her sister, June Trettin. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME, Kaukauna, with her son, Tim Gerharz officiating. Friends may call at funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until the time of services. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna, and will be private. A memorial has been established in her name.
