    • Former Town of Little Black resident Rose Cecelia Geiger, 86, Dorchester, died Thursday, June 15 at Colonial Center in Colby.

      Funeral services were held on Monday June 19 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer officiating. Burial took place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

      Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers where her grandchildren, James “Charlie” Motte, Michael Motte, Scott Geiger, Brian Geiger, Todd Geiger, Douglas Geiger, Matthew Geiger, Pamela Motte, Cynthia Hoffman, Jean Brost, Lisa Motte, Julie Becker, Ann Geiger, Cathy Meyer, Deborah Kilty, Erin Geiger, and Melissa Geiger.

      The former Rose Decker was born on May 19, 1914, at the Town of Little Black to the late Peter and Kreszenz (Heigel) Decker.

      Her marriage to Arthur Geiger, who survives, took place on November 10, 1936 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. They farmed in the Town of Little Black before moving to Dorchester in 1971.

      She is survived by her husband, Arthur “Art” Geiger of Dorchester; three sons, James (Sharon) Geiger of Abbotsford, Tomas (Betty) Geiger of Stetsonville, and Gary (Jaycine) Geiger of Dorchester; one daughter, Rita Motte of Dorchester; two brothers, Frank Decker of Dorchester and Clarence (Wanda) Decker of Colby; three sisters, Olivia Pinter of Abbotsford, Charlotte Habermeyer of Stetsonville and Matilda Gabriel of Fort Atkinson; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
