She was born in Woonsocket, RI to Roland and Ellen (Quinn) Brouillard. She is survived by her six sons and their wives; William and Mary of Norwell, Stephen and Christine of Falmouth, Kevin and Rebecca of Marshfield, Joseph and Elaine of Braintree, David and Karyn of Tiverton, RI, and Kurt and Patricia of Hull; her sister Carol Eklund of Oregon, as well as 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Rosalie was predeceased by her first husband, William Spitz, Sr., and her brother Paul Brouillard. Rosalie and the Spitz family were some of the original inhabitants of Humarock, MA, having purchased a cottage there in 1955, later moving permanently to Humarock from their home in South Weymouth. While living in South Weymouth, Rosalie was an active communicant of St. Francis Xavier parish. At age 50, Rosalie began a career at the National Park Service, where she met her second husband, Lawerance J. Hovig (now deceased), her cross-country USA and international travel companion for much of their time together. With her dear friend Mary Ennis or husband Larry, Rosalie embarked on trips to France, Russia, Italy, Yugoslavia, and even an African Safari, as well as having driven across the US and into Canada many times.
