      Roland Brochtrup

      Age 63, died Saturday, July 31, 1993 at St. Elizabeth's following a short illness. He was born March 17, 1930 in Hollandtown, the son of the late William and Rosella (Arts) Brochtrup. He owned and operated Brochtrup's Livestock Trucking for 45 years. Roland enjoyed getting away by going north to his cottage. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his four sons. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and their men's choir, and Knights of Columbus Council 1033. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Isabelle (Lamers) Brochtrup; four sons and three daughters-in-law; Gary and Sue Brochtrup, Appleton; Dan Brochtrup, Kaukauna; Tom and Bonnie Brochtrup; and Randy and Chris Brochtrup, all of Appleton; two daughters and sons-in-law; Karen and Wendell Crawford, Clarksville, Tenn.; and Judy and Frank Kantelberg, Kaukauna; Roland had a very special love for his nine grandchildren; Jeff, Mandy, Matt, Leah, Mark, Kevin, John, Christopher and Samantha; two brothers; the Rev. Eugene Brochtrup, Manitowoc, and Carlos Brochtrup, Appleton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Gladys and Leo Haen, Kaukauna; Sister Ann Brochtrup, Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc; and Gloria and Linus Vanderloop, Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michael and Nathan. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, with the Rev. William Richert officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna from 4-9 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until the cortege leaves for the church. The Knights of Columbus will meet at 7 p.m. and the parish prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund had been established.
