Mader, Roland Earl Roland Earl Mader of Middleton, WI, passed away on May 3, of cardiac arrest. Rollie was born in Appleton, WI, on June 4, 1928. He leaves behind the three great loves in his life: his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Millie (Kaufman), and his daughters, Vicki (Lew) Posekany, Verona, WI and Laurie Lallinger, Houston, TX. Rollie is survived by his grandson, Justin Lallinger of Durham, NC, and Vicki's step-daughter, Ruthie Posekany, whom he loved as a granddaughter. Rollie also is survived by sisters, Irene Langenberg of Combined Locks, WI, and Marge Foss of Honolulu, Hawaii, and many caring and supportive relatives.

He attended Appleton High School and the Salvatorian Seminary at St. Nazianz, WI, and served two years in the U.S. Navy. He retired as National Engineering Manager of American Can Co. after 35 years of service. He was a mentor to many who followed him, and an expert in his field of flexible packaging. Because of Rollie's innovative ideas, his company received several patents on his behalf.

As a young man in Appleton, Rollie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Millie took early retirement and traveled extensively, which was a source of great pleasure for them.

There will be a memorial service for Rollie at Gunderson Funeral Home, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton, WI on Thursday, May 11. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a Catholic blessing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middleton Senior Center, 7448 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, WI 53562, Middleton Outreach Ministry, 7432 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, WI 53562, or to a charity of choice.
