- Rodney Harvey Seefeld "Rod", age 73, of New London, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah. Rod was born on March 6, 1944 to the late Harvey and Gertrude (Schneider) Seefeld in New London. He served in the US Army from 1962-1965. He was united in marriage to Marcia Gorges on June 12, 1965. Rod worked at Curwood in New London for 41 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 263 and a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Rod loved farming, deer hunting, Allis Chalmers tractors, Polka music, snowmobiling and four wheeling.
Rod is survived by his wife Marcia; sons, Curt (Deb) Seefeld and Todd (Brenda) Seefeld; daughter, Tammy (Steve) Paters; granddaughter, Sarah (Ross) Miller and grandson, Sawyer (special friend Christina) Seefeld; sister, Sandy Danke; brothers-in-law, Delton (Judy) Gorges, Art (Noni) Gorges and Doug (Janice) Gorges and sisters-in-law, Pat Gorges and Bette Gorges. Rod is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Harvey and Pearl Gorges; grandparents, Carl and Elsie Schneider and Paul and Hattie Seefeld; brothers and sisters-in-law, Laurence (Phyllis) Gorges, Harold (Edith) Johnson, Marlin (Ginny) Gorges, Victor (Joyce) Gorges, Vernon Gorges, Junior Gorges, Gene (Jeannie) Gruenwald, Roland Gorges, Leland Gorges and Lyle Gorges.
A memorial service for Rod will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Pastor Mark Tiefel will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at ThedaCare in Neenah.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
