      Robert S. Ward, Bob, age 82, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away Friday afternoon, November 3, 2017 at Navicent Health Baldwin (Formerly Oconee Regional Hospital) in Milledgeville, GA, with his family at his side.

      Bob was born on February 19, 1935 in Manitowac, WI, son of Earl and Florence (Bishop).

      Bob was a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army. On December 8, 1961 Bob married the former Anne Marie Hearn. Bob retired from the Army in 1975 after almost 22 years of service. He worked for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for a short period of time. He was a resident at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA.

      Bob was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5080 in Lake City, GA and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Forest Park, GA – Lodge 1875.

      Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Rich Thomure of Fayetteville, GA; son, Charles Ward of Barnesville, GA; son-in-law, Thomas W. Carreker of Fayetteville, GA; sister-in-law, Patricia (Hearn) Potter of St. Lucie, FL; 7 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence (Bishop); sister, Lucille (Bud) Seal; wife, Anne Marie (Hearn) Ward and daughter: Patricia Annette (Freitag) Carreker.

      Family and friends may visit at Tara Garden Chapel – 681 North Avenue, Jonesboro, GA 30236 on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 11:00 until the time of service. Services will be held at 1:00 PM. Committal Services will be held directly after the service at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA 30236.
