- Preisler, Richard N.
Age 64, of Green Bay, formerly of Hortonville, passed away at his residence on Sunday May 17, 2015 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born in New London, WI, on August 29, 1950, the son of Stephen & Julia (Van Handel) Preisler and raised on the family farm in Hortonville. He graduated from Hortonville High School and FVTC. Richard was united in marriage to Vonnie Hertensteiner in 1987 until she preceded him in death in 1996. He was a devoted worker at Kimberly-Clark, working as a machinist for over 30 years. He then drove school bus for Lamers until his illness. Richard enjoyed fishing, boating, and also watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He is survived by his mother, Julia Preisler, Hortonville. Two daughters, Sheila (Sandy) Schmidt, Shiocton, Annjie (Mark) Nowak, Green Bay. Three sons, Michael Preisler, Appleton, Robert Preisler, Colorado, Nick (Amanda) Preisler, Minnesota. Three brothers, Stephen Preisler, Green Bay, Frank Preisler, Hortonville, Frederick (Tina) Preisler, Hortonville. Two sisters, Rosemary (James) Nighorn, Green Bay and Anne-Marie Driessen, Michigan. Ten grandchildren, Emma, Erika, Luke, Izabel, Emily, Michael, Allison, Ashley, Haley, Sandy Jr., and his beloved grand dogs Zoe & Mya. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Vonnie and his father Stephen. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Bellin Health & Unity Hospice.
