  Richard Maurice "Dick" Bernards passed away at his home early Sunday morning January 5th. Richard was born on the family farm, January 26, 1941, to Maurice and Mary (McGanty) Bernards. Dick attended St. James grade school and graduated from McMinnville High School in 1959. After high school, he married Dani Barr and moved to central Oregon where he was one of the first builders in Sun River. Dick moved back to Yamhill County in the mid 1970's and started R.M. Bernards General Contracting. Dick was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was the "Lucky Buck Hunter" after winning the Oregon Hunters Association tag raffle 7 times! Dick is survived by four daughters; Micki, Cyndi, Traci, and Sarah, two brothers; Vince and Bill, nine grand children, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
