Pfc. REx A. La Duke Was Listed Thursday as 'Missing'
Kimberly -- Army Pfc. Rex. A. La Duke, 20, died as the result of hostile action in Vietnam, according to a Defense Department announcement received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred La Duke, 518 Lamers Road.
Last Thursday the La Dukes received word their son was missing in action. The listing status was changed later.
The soldier was graduated in 1966 from Kimberly High School. He entered the U.S. Army Nov. 3, 1966, and arrived in Vietnam in April.
La Duke was killed, according to Mrs. La Duke, when an armored personnel carrier in which he was riding was hit by an anti-tank weapon in combat operations in the Mekong Delta.
Survivors include his parents, a brother, and three sisters.
