- Ray L. Kau, 78, of Lebanon died Wednesday at his home.
Ray was born in Sodaville, the son of Francis and Reha (Baker) Kau. He had resided in the Lebanon area all his life.
Ray married Mary Smith on Nov. 6, 1948, in Eugene.
Ray worked 39 years as a millwright and mechanic for Willamette Industries at Duraflake and Griggs Mill. He retired in 1991.
Ray attended the Lebanon Free Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, oil painting, and helping family and friends. Ray had built his own car and had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by wife Mary of Lebanon; children Debbie Georgen of Wyoming, Dave Kau, Linda Thomas and Rod Kau, all of Lebanon, and Sherri Hanna of La Pine; brothers John Kau of Salem and Ace Kau of Albany; sisters Juanita Sieg of Sweet Home, Marion Barnts of Stayton and Janet Bivens of Sodaville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be Saturday at the Lebanon Free Methodist Church.
