- A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Beaverton for Raleigh E. Baker, who died June 9 at age 85.
Mr. Baker was born Jan. 17, 1916, in Timber. He graduated in 1933 from Banks High School. He was a logger and worked for Willamette Iron & Steel during World War II. He was a sheet metal worker and estimator for Atlas Sheet Metal for 34 years, retiring in 1983. He was a volunteer fire chief for North Plains and a board member of North Plains Elementary School. In 1937, he married Betty Van Domelen; she died in 1998.
Survivors include his son, Gary; daughters, Carole Pool and Judy Harold; sister, Erma Kirkpatrick; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
