Jean Larson, devoted Wife, beloved Mother and wonderful Grandmother, age 85, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She was born on December 11, 1930 in Freedom, Wisconsin to the late Otto and Tillie (Joos) Nabbefeldt. Jean attended St. Mary's High School and graduated in 1948. She then continued her education at Fox Valley Technical College where she earned her degree in nursing. Jean married the love of her life, Arland on July 21, 1951 in Menasha. Together they were blessed with four children. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton for over 23 years retiring in 1996. Jean found great joy in caring for others there and also made life-long friendships with many of her coworkers. Jean's kind and caring personality not only made her a good nurse but an exceptional Mom. She was always one to have a cooked meal with plenty of food to go around; and always asking if you had room for more. Jean occasionally would make outfits for her children, read whenever time permitted and she loved to travel and was always ready for a road trip. Jean is survived by her four loving children, Alan (Jennifer) Larson, Carolyn Dosdos, Catherine Van Elzen and Liann Larson; nine grandchildren, Boden Larson, Jeremy Wittman, Jessica Wittman, Derrek Larson, Jorge Dosdos, Alexander Dosdos, Brandon Dosdos, Christopher Porter and Madeline Van Elzen; four great-grandchildren, Aurora, Keevan, Adam and Amara. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Arland on March 7, 2014, her granddaughter, Lisa Larson and her two brothers, Wayne and Lyle. She was also preceded in death by her two sons-in-law, William Porter and Roy Dosdos. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at LAEMMRICH FUNERAL HOME, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. A time of visitation will held on Thursday starting at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jean's name. Online condolences can be expressed at HYPERLINK "http://www.wichmannfargo.com" www.wichmannfargo.com.
