Age 69, passed away December 11, 1994 at Theda Clark Hospital after an extended illness. He was born to the late Ernest and Florence (Rogers) McHan in Gooding, Idaho, on October 12, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ledoris. Norm served in the Navy from 1943 until 1946. He then attended the University of Idaho until 1949. Norm worked as a salesman for several major companies including a prominent insurance company in Wausau. In 1966 Norm was elected to the Wausau City Council and the Marathon County Board. He was re-elected without opposition in 1968 but did not serve out his term because his work took him to Appleton. He became involved in the Big Brothers Program in 1976. His friendship with his little brother, Mark Schroeder, began at that time and continued until his death. It was one of his great joys in life. Norm leaves behind his wife, Ruth (Reinke); a daughter, Jan (Bill) Neitzel, Madison; a step-son, Ross (Lynda) Klarner, St. Louis, Missouri; step-daughter, Crystal (Michael) Koehn, Appleton; six grandchildren: Andrea, Brooke, and Richard Klarner, Autumn, Brad and Chelsea Neitzel. He also leaves behind many special relatives and friends. He made a final gift of love by donating to the organ donor program. He touched the loves of everyone he met and will be missed by all. A memoiral service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 1994 at the Valley Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Leon Knitt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. His wishes were to be cremated. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
