- Norbert Wayne McAbee, 71, of Heath Lane, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Frankie Matthews.
Mr. McAbee was born in Brown County, Wis., to Louis McAbee and Adella Thomson McAbee. He was retired from United Plywood in Mocksville. He was an active member of the National Pigeon Association and the High Point Pigeon Club, where he was acting secretary. Mr. McAbee was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His brothers, Roger McAbee and Donald McAbee, preceded him in death. Norbert will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Vespia McAbee of the home, and her sons Jeffrey Barley and his wife, Janet, of Sophia, and Todd Barley and his wife, Ann, of Lynchburg, Va.; four daughters, Debbie Gromoski, and her husband, Steve, of Crivitz, Wis., Lori Casarez of Winter Park, Fla., Patti McAbee of Green Bay, Wis., and Juli Liwinski, and her husband, Dave, of Coleman, Wis.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Louis McAbee Jr., and his wife, Pauline, of Richmond, Ill., and Ronald McAbee, and his wife, Sheryl, of Green Bay, Wis.; and three sisters, Nancy Kust, and her husband, Don, of Green Bay, Wis., Shan Symoniak, and her husband, Len, of Niagara, Wis., and Dee Dee Yanda, and her husband, Dennis, of Oncida, Wis.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
