- Norbert R. Derenne, 79, Algoma, died Monday April 7, 2014 at Ministry Door County Memorial Center surrounded by his family. He was born June 6, 1934 in Forestville to Eli and Annie (Jandrin) Derenne. At the age of ten his family moved to Thiry Daems. Norbert graduated from the Casco High School. Norbert married Evelyn Brennen in Thiry Daems. Norbert held a variety of jobs over the years, but the last of his jobs was working at Plumbers in Algoma where he retired in 2000.
Norbert's hobby was going to toy tractor shows and showing some of his total collection of about 800 tractors. He was also a mechanic and would work on his own tractors that he used on the farm. He was a member of the Oliver Harrparr Club.
Norbert is survived by his three sons Michael (Pat) Derenne, Krok; Mark (Barb) Derenne, Kewaunee; Matt (Jeanne) Derenne, Algoma; one daughter Marilyn Derenne, IL; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his siblings Veronica (Roger) DeVillers, Luxemburg; Robert (Janice) Derenne, Luxemburg; and Mary Ann (Wayne) Thiry, Casco; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Mitchell.
Family and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 4 - 8 p.m., Sunday April 13, 2014 and after 10 am, Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in the church cemetery.
Norbert's children want to give a very special thank you to Bob and Janice Derenne and Mary Ann and Wayne Thiry for all their time and care that they gave to taking care of their brother.
