    • Norbert "Norb" De Coster, Little Chute, age 89, entered into Eternal Life on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Norb was born on December 24, 1924, son of Leonard and Anna (Hietpas) De Coster. He grew up in Little Chute, the second of nine children. Norb attended St. John Grade School and High School until he was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in Italy and earned the rank of Sergeant, and was awarded 4 Battle Stars and 1 Bronze Star. Norb was discharged on November 1, 1945 and was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258. He was a proud to have travelled to Washington D.C. last year as a participant in the Old Glory Honor Flight program.

      After his military career, he became a plumber and joined the Plumber's Local 400. He retired at the age of 62.

      On April 12, 1947 Norb proudly married Ruth Vanden Heuvel at St. John Nepomucene. Together they raised two children, Linda and Jim. Ruth and Norb would have been married 67 years on April 12, 2014.

      Norb is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth; children: Linda Meulemans, Wrightstown; and Jim (Linda) De Coster, Black Creek; grandchildren: Jason, Jody (Sara), Jeremy (Kacy), Joel (Stephanie) and Jill Meulemans, Janelle (Nathan) Sprangers, Angie (Rick) Steffens, Matt (Kate) and Michael De Coster; great grandchildren: Chole, Grant, Ella and Saylor Meulemans, Skyler, Jordan and Paityn Meulemans, Landon Sprangers, Ava Meulemans, Connor and Caden Steffens; siblings: Marie Sievers, Evelyn Carlson and Leo De Coster; sisters/ brothers-in-law: Ann, Anna Mae and Peggy De Coster, Bob Vande Loo, Jane Christensen and Virginia Stuyvenberg. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      Norb was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Anna; Ruth's parents, George and Catherine Vanden Heuvel; his son-in-law, Pete Meulemans; siblings: Lorraine (Francis) Demerath, Della Vande Loo, Lawrence, Mark and Jerome De Coster; sisters/brothers-in-law: Muriel and Bev De Coster, Betty (John) Van Beek, Willard Carlson, John Christensen, Gene Welhouse, Don Stuyvenberg and Robert Sievers.

      Visitation will be held Wednesday March 19, 2014 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. Committal St. John Cemetery.       Norb's family wishes to especially thank Dr. Greg Johnson and the staff at Kaukauna Clinic for all the wonderful care, compassion and friendship shown to him. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. Also, thank you to the staff on the 8th Floor at Appleton Medical Center for their kindness and compassion.

      I could not have asked for a more loving, wonderful husband for 66 years than you. Love you always, Ruth
