- Nila J.(Walter) Muehl, 88, Seymour, went to join her Lord and her beloved husband, Walter, and son, Dennis, on June 18, 2006. She was a resident of Seymour's Meadow Wood Assisted Living and Good Shepherd Nursing Home for the past five years. Nila was born Feb. 25, 1918, to Norman and Ella Hanson in Navarino, Wis. She married Walter Muehl on May 23, 1940, in Seymour and they were married 48 year until his death in 1988. They farmed in the Seymour area over 30 years; they lived in Chilton, where Walter was the director of public works for 10 years, before retiring in Seymour. Nila was a long-time member of the Seymour United Methodist Church, active there, in the Seymour Homemakers and the Walter Muehl Senior Citizens Center. Nila was devoted to her family, and all of them benefited from her cooking, baking, sewing, and crocheting skills. She was a kind, caring, gracious lady, with a keen sense of honor, fairness and humor.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (James) Biese, Little Chuite; her daughter-in-law, Barbara (Dennis) Muehl, Green Bay; her grandchildren, Gregory Scott W. Muehl, Ledgeview; Tina (James)Perenboom, Combined Locks; and Jennifer Bertrand, Green Bay. She is further survived by great-grandchildren; Zachary & Chelsea Micke & James Perenboom III, and step-great-grandchildren, Derek & Danielle Perenboom. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Sylvia (Harold) Hanson, Two Rivers; brother-in-law, Frederick Landmann, Brillion; her special nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Special friends; Boots Krueger and Stanly & Virginia Butters, Seymour.
Nila was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and son, Dennis; her siblings, Orville, Rudolph & Harold Hanson and Lucille (Elmer) Brown as well as sister-in-law Lila Landmann.
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Bener Baysa Agtarap officiating. Burial will be in the Seymour City Cemetery.
