      Fischer, Judith Y. Mrs. Gerald

Judy, age 64, of Greenville, passed away at home, Sunday, June 21, 2009, after a courageous 25 year long battle with a rare form of cancer. Judy was born April 1, 1945, in Appleton to the late Virgil and Bernice (Dorschner) Jaeckels. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1963. On October 28, 1967, she married Gerald "Jerry" Fischer at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Appleton. Judy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton.

Judy worked at Appleton Medical Center for over 30 years in the Medical Records Department. During that time Judy was also a General Contractor in a home building partnership that built many homes throughout the Fox Valley. Many of Judy's distinct Colonial styled homes were built in the Greenville area. Together with her family, Judy also bought older homes and rehabilitated them into like new condition. She enjoyed working as an expeditor with people as they redecorated and remodeled their homes. She especially loved her yard and its many landscaping projects.

Judy is survived by her husband Jerry and her two sons, whom she was very very proud of: Jonathon (Ann - who she loved as a daughter), Greenville; Joseph, Town of Ellington and her grandchildren: Joe and Molly Fischer and Lauren Ort.

Besides her family, Judy had many relatives and special friends with whom she enjoyed visiting, bumming and dinning out. They all helped care for her during her ending times. She especially enjoyed visiting with her special cousins Wendy Bebeau and Kathy Lantz. Joan Fischer, Judy's sister-in-law, a nurse, played a comforting roll in answering many of Judy's and the family's questions. A special "thank you" to Judy's aunt and uncle, Helen and Jerry Kitzmiller who were Judy's spiritual guides to Heaven.

Judy had an awful lot of fun teaching her husband how to cook, clean the house and do the laundry - all in preparation of her leaving. When all that mattered was taken care of, Judy left us to join her parents in Heaven and visit with her life long friend Judy Helf.

The funeral service will be held 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Deacon Patrick Whitcomb officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
