    • Joyce R. Simon, 86, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, Feb. 12, 2011. She was born on May 16, 1924, in Little Rapids, Wis., to the late Arthur and Christine (Baeten) Otis. She was a 1941 graduate of Nicolet High School in west De Pere. Joyce married George G. Simon in 1944 at St. Boniface Church in west De Pere. He passed away Jan. 22, 1972.

      Joyce was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community, Ledgeview. She worked at Shefferd's Cheese, Prange's, Robert Hall Co., and the Kresge Store.
      Surviving are four children, Gary (Georgean) Simon, Suamico; Gayle (Michael) De Lair, Allouez; Richard Simon, Green Bay; and Dean (Krissti) Simon, Green Bay; ten grandchildren, Stacy (Dana) Stecker, Todd (Rachel) Simon, Kristin (Robert) Euclide, Joshua (Etta) De Lair, Jill (fiance Brian) Simon, Jake Simon, Jeff Simon, Jared Simon, Kendra Simon, and Ashley Benson; ten great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kamryn and McKenna Euclide; Ethan and Ian De Lair; Mason, Gabrielle, Alexandra and Broderick Stecker; and Peyton Olson; a sister-in-law, Theresa Otis; and nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, John Otis.
      Family and friends may call Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, from 9 until 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Interment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
