They raised eight children; three sons, John, Milwaukee; Tom (Julie), Oconomowoc; and Paul of Milwaukee's East Side and his domestic partner, Jan Hill, who John resided with for 34 years; four daughters, Mary (Michael) Riley, Madison; Kathryn (Michael) Krupinski, Green Lake; Nora Toonen, Milwaukee; and Carol (Tom) Runte of Wauwatosa; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Toonen; three brothers, Peter, Linus and Robert; four sisters, Catherine, Loretta, Bonita and Gladys.
