      Schmalz, Jerry F.
      Jerry Schmalz, age 67, of Darboy, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Appleton. He was born on January 4, 1941, in Appleton, son of the late Rueben and Irene (Luniak) Schmalz. Jerry was united in marriage to Lydia Fox on November 4, 1984, in Absarokee, MT. Jerry served his country with the United States Army. He worked at American Can for ten years until he became a Dairy Farmer.
      He is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church (formerly Holy Angels Catholic Church), Darboy. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and was an avid Packers Fan.
      Jerry will be missed by his loving wife, Lydia "Sally"; step-children: Wayne (Janna) Hertzler, MT; Cindy (Charlie) Green, MT; Sheryl (Doug) Moffitt, MT; Tim (Lyndall) Hertzler, ID; three brothers: John (Pat) Schmalz, Menasha; Joe Schmalz, Menasha; Jim (Marge) Schmalz, Appleton; a sister, Janet (Jerry) Weber, Darboy; 16 nieces and nephews, many grandnieces and grandnephews; and five step-grandchildren. He is further survived by many other relatives and special friends.
      Jerry was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Betty Schmalz; and two nephews, Tim and Jeff.
      A Funeral Service will be held for Jerry at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (formerly Holy Angels Catholic Church), W2796 County Road KK, Darboy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, from 4 - 7 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will again be held on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place in Holy Angels Cemetery, Appleton.
      A memorial is being established.
