      Jahnke, Jeral Edwin "Humphrey"

      Jeral Edwin Jahnke age 68, of Kaukauna, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at home with his family by his side. He was born on November 27, 1941, son of the late Edwin and Esther (Bruhn) Jahnke. On September 14, 1974, Jeral was united in marriage to Gail G. Hofmann. Jeral graduated from Freedom High School in 1960 and he then went on to work heavy construction, retiring from Miron Construction in 2002. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his grandchildren in later years.

      Jeral is survived by his loving wife, Gail; seven children: Al (Linda), May (Randy) Fuss, Deb (Chuck) Wolf, Dean (Judy), Fred (Tory), Michelle "MJ" Jahnke and Jane (Jay) Green; 20 grandchildren: Tara and Nicole Jahnke, Jason (Rachel) and Casey Odegard, Nathan (Michelle) Cummings, Brandon (Aislinn) Fuss, Whitley (Thor) Nielsen, Shannon, Shelby, Scott and Shaina Wolf, Garret Jahnke, Morgan, McKenzi and Calvin Jahnke, Gabrielle and Deryl Jahnke, Jacob, Joshua and Jebediah Green. He is further survived by eight great-grandchildren with two on the way; a brother: Norman (Diane); and a sister: Delores Semrow.

      Jeral was preceded in death by a brother; Marvin, a brother-in-law; Wilmer Semrow, his mother and father-in-law; Fred and Hazel Hofmann.

      The funeral service for Jeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kaukauna. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Jeral will be laid to rest at Community Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
