      Middleton, Jeanne Dorothy
Jeanne D. Middleton, age 62, Appleton, passed away surrounded by family on November 17, 2008, at Brewster Village. She fought a courageous battle with neurofibromitosis. Jeanne was born on September 3, 1946, in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Ashauer) Van Hoof, later raised by her stepmother, Mabel Van Hoof, who survives her.
Jeanne retired from the Outagamie County Highway Department after 21 years. She previously was a member of St. Nicholas Parish and joined St. Mary Parish when she moved to Appleton. She was a member and active participant of Alanon since 1983. Jeanne loved music, shopping, movies, going out for dinner and trips to Door County. She also loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving daughter Michelle (Pat) Randerson; brothers and sisters: Jerry (Pat) Van Hoof, Mary Van Hoof, Jack (Patty) Van Hoof, Ann (Dan) Devine, Kris (Bill) Lecker, Bonnie (Gordy) Johnson and Joe (Dee) Van Hoof; sister-in-law Marlene Van Hoof; former husband Phillip Middleton. She is further survived by her godchildren Jennifer Mackey and Katie Woelfel and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ron Van Hoof.
A funeral service for Jeanne will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. Michael O'Rourke officiating. A visitation for Jeanne will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Jeanne's name for neurofibromitosis.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Brewster Village and Cathy Randerson from ThedaCare Hospice for their sincere compassion and care. A heartfelt thanks to special friend Mike Marsden, and to her wonderful supporters from Alanon.
