    • Jeanne Christine Denis died peacefully at Unity Hospice on August 11, 2016 in Ledgeview, Wisconsin at the age of 93.

      Jeanne was born October 18, 1922 in Pierson, Iowa to Willie "WB" and Nellie Williams Hinkhouse. She graduated in 1939 as class valedictorian of the Pierson Consolidated High School. She received her nursing degree from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa in 1944.

      Jeanne married Richard John Denis of Green Bay, Wisconsin on October 10, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa. At the time, Richard Denis was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force. Starting with her ten children, Jeanne was all about family and always had an abundance of love to give. Jeanne loved her cottage and what it represented as a family gathering place.

      Jeanne and her family were founding members of Resurrection Catholic Parish in Green Bay, where her time and talents were evident in the hand sewn vestments given to the parish. After raising the family, Jeanne worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital.

      She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" John Denis; her parents, William Bernard and Nellie Isobel Williams Hinkhouse; her four younger brothers, Robert "Bob", Duane "Jim", Ronald "Heinie", and Roger "Sam" Hinkhouse; and two sister-in-laws, Bette Herbold Hinkhouse and Joyce Paal Hinkhouse.

      Jeanne is survived by her ten children: Patricia Denis Fore of Las Vegas, NV; Susan Kay Denis Laughlin of Omaha, NE; Kristin Jean Denis Evans of Green Bay, WI; Mark John Denis of Green Bay, WI; Janine Claire Denis Cook of Laurel, MD; John Richard Denis of Anchorage, AK; Marilyn Jean Denis Dixon of Louisville, CO; Paul Richard Denis of Green Bay, WI; Steven John Denis of De Pere, WI; and Jane Marie Denis-Strutt of Green Bay, WI.

      Her legacy includes her 29 surviving grandchildren: Jonathan Fore, Jessica Fore Bousky, Rebecca Fore Cornelius, Richard Fore, Jennifer Laughlin Yevoli, Kathleen Laughlin Gorringe, Kelly Laughlin Jeffreys, Jane Laughlin, Mark John Laughlin, Richard Evans, David Evans, Susan Evans, Matthew Denis, Sarah Denis Haase, Richard Denis, Mark Denis, Jr., Jacqueline Cook Browne, Denis Cook, William Denis, Rachael Denis, Matthew Dixon, Christine Dixon, Jennifer Dixon, Cara Scott Remmert, Jessica Denis Nead, Kaitlin Denis, Steven Denis, John Strutt, and Steven Strutt. Jeanne has 26 surviving great grandchildren with five additional great grandchildren expected this year. Jeanne was also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

      Visitation is Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:45a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Parish, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. Bishop Robert Morneau will officiate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
